BREAKING NEWS: Siemens bets on green

Siemens  is planning to become a player in the environmental world according to Reuters. 

According to a report by Reuters, the Siemens (SIEGn.DE) Chief Executive Peter Loescher in a magazine interview  slated for Monday publication revealed plans to play a key role in the green world.  Apparently Loescher  sees  ” an increase of the turnover in this field to 25 billion euros ($34.80 billion) by 2011 from the 19 billion achieved in 2008.”

It appears that “Siemens will be in a first meeting of a consortium of German companies led by Munich Re (MUVGn.DE) in an ambitious hundreds-of-billions of euros plan to build solar parks in the Sahara desert and to supply the power via cables to Europe.” Reuters. SIEMENS report
