Perseid meteor shower despite light pollution

Tonight and tomorrow will be one of those rare occurrances in the night sky that many of us grew up believing were “shooting stars” coming to us to make wishes for love and kisses.

An unusual display is expected this evening.   However, we are warned by many sources that light pollution is a particular deterrent to seeing nature’s little gems.  Here is a piece from PhysOrg.com that has some hints and a sky map.

And don’t believe for a second that wishes don’t come true. In fact there are some who believe that the following rhyme originated from someone viewing a shooting star:

“Star light. star bright, first star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might. I wish my wish comes true tonight.”

Happy viewing. Happy wishes. We are happy to learn of any way possible to rid us of light pollution in a “green friendly” way. http://www.physorg.com/news168874856.html
